first publicly available version of the AIOSchema standard for
cryptographic content provenance.

What’s included

The complete AIOSchema v0.5.5 specification

Reference implementations in Python (108 tests) and TypeScript (70 tests)

A cross-verified conformance suite with 14 deterministic test vectors

Additional implementations in Node.js, Go, and Rust

What is AIOSchema?

AIOSchema is an open, technology-agnostic standard for verifying the
integrity, authenticity, and provenance of digital and physical assets.
It provides a minimal, verifiable metadata framework — the universal
provenance layer for digital content — designed to be read in one hour
and implemented in one day.

Why now?

The EU AI Act Article 50 and California SB 942 establish content labeling
requirements effective August 2, 2026. AIOSchema provides a free,
open, and neutral provenance layer suitable for regulatory compliance.
